Maybe, but the slowing down started with late October files. I would honestly like to hear someone from USCIS give us a plausible reason for thousands of approved files to sit in a mail room for almost 2 months.

Got an email from my congressman today.

very detailed and helpful.

bottom line.  The DACA applications that were lost by USPS were extended so those folks could reapply.

That is why they are back logged and nothing is heading to NVC.

So everything is backlogged due to that issue ? Or is that DACA applicants ?

Wow, that's nice to hear of a helpful response! Although I'm curious why these reapplications cause delays of K-1 files being sent to NVC. What does one have to do with the other?

Im guessing they had to mail

them out first as they had expiration dates etc and would be issues if they didn’t get them thru in time . So maybe to stop a back log at Nvc they hold onto other visa applicants with longer expiration dates . I’m thinking of becoming an immigrant advisor in the future for people going thru this situation lol, we are learning everyday of different issues and stress lol

Thank you i will compile an email and follow up.

I Called USCIS 3 times today and a Tier 2 never called me back, and been calling everyday since Friday. Not sure why i never get a call back. Yes phone number is correct and its my cell direct line.

I honestly feeling hopeless as i cant get an answer from no one.

Don’t feel hopeless. I was the 15th and JUST heard this week that it arrived at NVC. Still don’t have a number, but at least it’s progress. You’re not the only one.

Hmmm I don’t buy that. That would only delay DACA applicants. That doesn’t explain why approved cases sat in a corner without being shipped out. That would affect not approved cases.

That would be a reason if K1 visas were processed at NVC. But they’re not. They are only assigned a number in a computer, so that wouldn’t affect K1 files at all.

Well from a USCIS point of view , they have to mail out priority first I assume

I love when legal immigrants are delayed due to illegal ones. Something seems wrong with that

USCIS has finite manpower and must prioritize

There's so many mysteries about USCIS...  If we're talking literally shipping boxes, how much effort does that take? Do they have a budgetary limit on how much they're allowed to spend on shipping per day/week/month? These are obviously rhetorical questions since none of us can really know for sure!

Dear ..... (me)

“A couple of things, first of all I did call the California Service Center where your Fiancé’s file is at.  They said that they are backed logged about 30 days due to the increase of volume.   (they have had a tremendous about of applications with the DACA issue)

The process (as they explained it) is they were able to process it early and then once the application was approved it then needs to go to another department.... etc
