Hi, Thank you for sharing. so does it mean that the expiring date of the approval applies only to the NVC to process ? meaning you don't need to schedule the interview at the embassy prior to the approval expiration date?

As far as I know, both USCIS and the embassy can extend/renew the NOA2 date if it's close to expiring. Idk about NVC. I think usually it's not at NVC long enough for this to be an issue, but it may be now. Hard to say. But if there's any worry about it expiring before the interview you can ask the embassy to extend it.

Just found this thread. NOA2 approval on November 15th, so 28 days for us. Trying not to get discouraged. It’s hard around the holidays. I tried not to hope he’d be here by Christmas, but I guess I was kind of hoping bc I’ve been having a rough week.

Just found this thread too, our NOA2 date is Nov 15 like yours @EilishDJ . Terribly frustrated at yet another wait taking forever, we are so ready to be done with this process. I am having a rough week too.

Just posted in the May group, but am another November 15 NOA2.  What notification do we get when the NVC receives our case, issues a number and forwards the case to the embassy?

Attn people with NOA2 on or before Oct 30:

Someone very lucky with an NOA2 date of Oct 30 got their case number yesterday from NVC. I called USCIS yesterday, and my petition has not been mailed yet (NOA2 Nov 2). For those of you with NOA2s on or before the 30th, I encourage you to call today and ask if they have your case! Hopefully you can share good news with us :)

USCIS will tell you if it’s been mailed to NVC?

No matter how messed up NVC stage is right now I can’t understand reason behind keeping approved petitions at CSC for 6 weeks already.. it’s driving me nuts bcs if I won’t be able to fly to states on the begging of February then I might as well not be able to have my wedding in another 6 months FML 😳

I don’t understand the reason behind this as well.

Up to 4 weeks to allow for an application to be posted from California to another U.S. state.

I wrote my state congressman and asked for assistance since USCIS refuses to pass me on to someone who can answer this question.

It may be something as simple as they only mail to NVC once a month.

whk knows

That's what I was told by a tier 2, but that wouldn't explain why it has suddenly become a much longer wait. Clearly something happened/changed

I agree, it's a travesty they literally can't just mail approved petitions. We're just numbers

Yes- you have to call and talk to a tier 2. They told me yesterday that mine still hasn't been mailed, but someone else was able to reach them and heard that theirs was mailed a few days earlier.

It’s all a huge bs guys. Today they told my fiancé it’s 6 weeks to be mailed and another 2 weeks to be scanned.. 1st time hearing this... I’m fed up with this bs, each time they give different information. That doesn’t make sense and no one is treating us seriously. Anyone knows how long is for NVC or USCIS to answer an email inquiry?

We made several inquiries to USCIS and they usually sent the response in 10 days, well at least in our case! This is a real nightmare..
