My I797 Notice of action, May 11-17-2017, says it forwarded my petition to the consulate. I called NVC center which told me they do not have my notice and to contact USCIS. I contacted USCIS with no real help to be found.

Did everyone else's notice say the same as mine? Or did it say it was being forwarded to NVC?

That’s standard wording. Some say consulate, some say NVC. It will go to NVC first always no matter what it says. It’s just because K1 visas are not processed at NVC, they’re just there for a case number then down to embassy they go. Since you’re nov 17 NoA2, yours should be getting to NVC this week or last week. Keep calling NVC, it will show up soon.

After USCIS things will move faster, they said. Oh what a lie.

Of course, it is faster than USCIS since it will not take 6-8months. I think that is what they mean by things will move faster :jest:

I called NVC and they told me the embassies can assign case numbers. I'm not sure how valid that advice is.

Thanks for the speedy responce

I believe they only assign numbers if it’s a DCF case. If you filed at USCIS, it automatically goes to NVC no matter what.

Well , I called them and I’m the beneficiary . But then again I’m in a same sex relationship so they don’t know who is calling as it’s both male voices

I will try to call them then. Thank you for the info. Hopefully, they will entertain me. 😂 If not, get ready NVC, you will receive call from me every single day

you're better calling USCIS to get the date, then call NVC before closing so they have the daily mail received for that day I assume

Did you both submit an official inquiry asking NVC to contact USCIS?

Did you also ask USCIS when your applications were physically mailed out?
