I sent them an email on Xmas and got an answer this morning:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a record of receiving your petition.

It can take at least six weeks for the National Visa Center (NVC) to receive an approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and enter it in the U.S. Department of State's database system. If it has been less than six weeks since USCIS approved your petition, you don't need to take any action at this point.

If USCIS approved your petition more than six weeks ago, please send us a scanned copy of your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action - Approval Notice. You can attach the scanned copy to an email, and send it to nvcresearch@state.gov.

In the subject line of your email, please type the original receipt number from your I-130 Approval Notice. If you have more than one petition, send a separate email for each petition. Once we receive the copy of your approval notice, we will contact USCIS to find your petition.

Before you send us an email, please check your Notice of Action and make sure it says your petition was approved. If it says that USCIS kept your petition, or if it is a notice other than an approval, you should contact USCIS for more information. You can contact them on their website at uscis.gov, or by telephone at 1-800-375-5283.

I’m so confused😔

Why are we submitting at the 30 day mark if nvc is saying 6 weeks?

dod I miss something stayed by USCIS or nvc that said send an inquiry at 30 days?

The standard on NOA2 says it takes 2-4 weeks for NVC to receive it so you can start inquiring on 30 days because it says so on NOA2. But currently processing times are now 6-8 weeks, but you only hear that when you call NVC to inquire about your case. But you can always submit an inquiry at 30 days, but it will most likely get you nowhere as they will only send you back their standard email saying it takes at least 6 weeks.

So, how long does it take them to answer from the nvcsearch email once the 6 weeks have passed?

The first email was answered very fast.

I can't stress enough that you are in the wrong forum. Regardless of where your file was sent, processing and processing times are totally different for your type of visa. This forum is for K1 visas. You don't wanna get the wrong information and I'm sure there are lots of people filing for your type of visa too and sharing their experiences in the correct forum so you're missing out.

We called NVC and asked this question. They said, there is no difference what so ever for CR1, F2A, or K1 when it comes to transfer times from USCIS to NVC.Anyhow thanks for the heads up.

Do you guys think NVC will mail our petitions to our respective embassies this week? I'm wondering if it will take until the first week of January or longer.

Most people who marked "NVC Received" on @Shoegum's list and on VJ haven't marked it as "NVC Left", so I'm wondering if people just forgot to update it, or if this part of the process is also taking a lot longer for most people...

I noticed you submitted an nvc inquiry and then got your case number about 10 days later.

coukd you please share if you submitted the inquiry at exactly 30 days and what the daud when they replied and how long it took them to reply?

thank you

yow, yes i sent an inquiry but received a response so late, and on the response they were like they have given me a CASE # already and not need to contact them anymore since my case has been forwarded to the Embassy. i was like yes of course coz they responded like 3-4 weeks later  after my 6months beyond inquiry. i hope i answered your question.

NVC received my case on December 20th, but NVC Research only sent me email on Dec 27th that they have received my case. So, I wouldn't put too much stock on NVCResearch; it may be useful only when USCIS mails it, and yet NVC has not received it after couple of weeks or some other issue. Currently the problem lies with USCIS as it is mailing them late. NVC can't really do much.

Did you mean 5 days because it says sent and received just 5 days apart in December...?

nevermind. I see the time accounted for includes from NIA2 Approval to it actually being sent.

May I ask you a question though please?

Does your Noa2 copy state that it has been sent to the NVC?

Thats what mine says but I’m hearing a lot that they ship in batches so I don’t believe it’s actually been sent.

thank you

It would say something like that, which is the template for approval, but it doesn't mean it's actually mailed.
