How long have you guys waited on the phone line before you talked to a NVC Rep? My fiance waited an hour before he cancelled the call.

We sent an email through AskNVC, we received a reply after 3 days. The email stated that it takes 6 weeks for NVC to receive the application from USCIS.

If you call between 7 am - 8 am EST there's never a wait. I also tried again at 5 pm EST yesterday and there wasn't a wait. I think the worst time to call is anytime during the day. Early morning or in the evening is better.

Good luck everyone

I always call after work (5 - 6 pm) and my maximum hold has been around 3 minutes.  Unlike trying to make a call to USCIS lol

Has anyone got verified info on why we are instructed to wait 6 weeks before an inquiry may be made regarding mail processing time between noa2 and nvc receive date?

ive been assigned a case worker through my congressman’s  office and I’m trying to put together a document asking for an explanation for why applicants are instructed not to make inquiries prior to 6 weeks and why it would even take 6 weeks to mail a petition from one state to another.

thanks

I was told that mine was transferred to NVC ON Dec 14. So, it should reach NVC by the end of this week. USCIS rep told me to call back on Friday and he can tell me if that has been received by NVC by checking on the status.

That's great! I just assumed that the last thing they can verify was whether it was sent or not. I didn't know that they know whether or not it's been received by NVC. If NVC tells me they don't have it on Friday, then I'll call a tier 2 as well.

6 weeks to be sent 6 weeks to be received and 2 for scanning, also they started to remind us they have 90 days for the process so... I don't feel like calling them anymore. Good news the beggining of November approved petitions seems to be sent.. I wont even expect case number before 2018 and if I can't fly to FL at the beggining of Feb I don't expect to get married within next 4 months.. I just wish to survive Christmass somehow :|

They have been telling people 6 weeks from USCIS to NVC for years. That is just to keep people from calling every week.  Ours took only 8 days at the time and average had been around 7 to 21 days. The thing is it actually is taking 6 weeks now but it may not be the fault of NVC. USCIS is the one who ships the cases. NVC has no control over when USCIS sends the files. UNLESS NVC has instructed USCIS to STOP or slow down the shipping of cases due to NVC working on other priorities. That is the thing we commoners just never know what is really going on behind the scenes. The good news is early November cases seem to be making it to NVC these last few days so hopefully the wait is over for some and the shipping times will go down slowly from here on out back to the 7 to 21 day average instead of 40 days .

2 weeks sound reasonable, but 7+ weeks is not reasonable; something must have happened to cause the delay and obviously, we are not privy to that information. Hopefully, the Dec 14th batch will reach soon and I will get the case #, by Friday.

I'm wondering if they will actually work a full day on Friday though. My office and most other offices are closing early.

ugh so not helpful -.- I wish they would get rid of the useless ones, but I guess that could make the backlog even worse.

They're all useless, I've never talked to a tier 2 who actually helped me

Well as government office, someone has to answer the call during their announced business hours. so, there must be at least some contractors or employees working in shifts should be there to answer the call. i am going to call them in the morning if it hasnt reached NVC by then, just in case
