Hi everyone,

I filed my N400 June, 9th, 2017. My field office was St Louis, MO. I did my bio beginning of July at St louis, MO. Then I moved mid July. I have changed my address to Chicago, IL. July 25 my change of address request is completed. and my N400 status changed to "inline for scheduling interview" July 26, 2017.

I have not heard anything from USCIS since then.

I noticed a few people have their N400 filed in Sep and got their interviews already. I called the 800 number. I was told my case was still within the processing time.

What happened? Should I worry? What should I do?

Anyone who has similar experiences or advice, please help. Thank you so much in advance.

I am in SF and applied in April, went to in line in July and still waiting.

Yeah that’s it, it’s possible your delay is due to changing office so they have to ship your physical file over to the new office before they can schedule the appointment.

it's really no sense to compare your case with others,as individual has different background and many factors contribute to the whole process pace. The estimated timeline or timeline from other applicants in the same period will not give you any hint how your case is processed indeed.  Moving home and case transferred to another field office definitely cause delay.

if you want to catch up , get contact with local field office, then initiate request to your senator office as well if you believe your case is significantly out of  the processing window.

Our n-400 was accepted on 3/7/17. We were updated to "in line for interview on 4/17/17.  And we are still waiting.  Been over 8 months for us since they received our n-400 in March of 2017. Just a long waiting game.  We have no control we just have to be patient.  Good luck

Ha! We're swapping! My wife applied in July 2017 in Chicago, but we'll be moving to St. Louis soon and fully expect to have to change addresses & do the interview there because Chicago is taking so long. I hope your interview comes up before too much longer...

I finally got my interview 4/10, funny enough, they haven't move my physical file to the new office yet. I was interviewed at the old office, now it is 6 hours away. but no complain as long as I have the interview.

now they are actually moving my physical file. waiting for the file to get to the new office and have my oath schedule, I guess.

you may still end up interviewing in chicago. I had mine in st louis. Had to take an extra day off. 6 hours no fun but better than nothing

I meant, 6 hours driving up there no fun but better than nothing. when I was in the interview, I saw my physical file on st louis IO's table. he said he would transfer my file after the interview..

That's really interesting. Congrats. So they went ahead and did the interview in STL anyway, even though you told them you're now living in Chicago? I thought the interview had to happen in the district where you're currently living. Yeah, she wouldn't really mind coming back up to Chicago after we move south, if that's how it turns out -- just want the interview to HAPPEN! :-)
