Applying for my mom

Hi everyone - I recently received my citizenship through naturalization and wanted to sponsor my mother to come and live with me in the US. I was wondering if some of you could share the list of documents you prepared and sent to the USCIS for your parents or relatives when you applied on their behalf. Your help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

I actually did. It just seems so light in terms of paperwork needed. When my husband applied for me for a fiance visa, it felt like we prepared a 500-page book for them.

it's different when petitioning for family members

 

just copy of your birth certificate and copy of your mom's marriage certificate, any documents that aren't in English need to a attach a translation into English of said documents,

 

payment and proof of citizenship

Yup...the K-1 -> USC path takes much longer and needs much more paperwork than a USC filing for a non-spouse/fiancee relative.
