Waiting citizenship interview since march

Hi,

 

I sent the N-400 in January to start my citizenship process, in March I had my biometric done and since then nothing happened...I`m kind of nervous here, is this normal?  I live in NY (westchester) and I`m seeing around other people who started their processes months after me with their interview date already set. Is there other people waiting without any news from the USCIS? Any advice in what to do or who to contact?

When I did my N-400 last year (2016).  I had my biometrics done on Aug. 4th.  From then to my interview there was no information just waiting.  My interview was not scheduled until late March 2017, then if you pass the interview you will be scheduled for the oath which could be another 30 days.  I got lucky and my interviewer was able to get me scheduled for the next week.

I applied in March of 2017, and I am still waiting for my interview letter, too.

Many places are taking about a year to finish the whole process (some even longer), so this is not unusual.  It all depends on how busy your local office is and how many employees they have working the cases.

 

Hoping you get some good news soon.  That will definitely be something to be thankful for.
