We finally got a resolution on this. Here's the summary:

 

We sent the package off to them on Nov 13th 2017. RFIE Delivered by courier on Nov 15th 2017 but never an official response that it was received by USCIS. We called USCIS 3 times about the no response. The first time we called we spoke to tier 1 and we were told that 60 days must pass with no response before we can ask where the response is and that tier 2 could answer the question, but tier two was no available. The second time we called we spoke to tier 1 and we were told that 60 days must pass with no response before we can ask where the response is and that tier 2 could NOT answer the question and we would have to drive to a USCIS to find out if it was received. The third time we called on Jan 22nd 2018, it was after the 60 days and we got through to tier 2 after tier 1 put us on the callback list. They called us back on the same day after about 1.5 hours of waiting and told us that the RFIE was received on Nov 17th 2017.

That is good to know!

 

After 60 days of delivery of our response to RFIE, I called USCIS and Tier 1 added "We will review your response to our request and mail you our decision. "  to Next steps in my online tracker.

Yeah, and we had just scheduled a trip to San Antonio to talk to them. I told my wife we should probably try one last call, and I am so glad we did. Saved us a 5-hour trip. Glad to hear you finally got resolution too!

Encouraged by your post, I called and was asked to make an InfoPass to my local office... I wonder if that is correct information as I mailed my package back to NBC...

If it's past 60 days since you mailed the RFIE, then tier 2 can tell you if it was received. Assuming that's the information you are looking for. Our issue was that they never responded that the RFIE was received.

That is my situation.

 

I was expecting to be transferred to Tier 2 by Tier 1. Except I was asked to go to my local office by Tier 1.

 

Maybe I should try again later...

Called again and another T1 officer confirmed that they received my response. (The previous two calls were useless with some other T1 officers)

Yup! When you interview for USCIS, I suspect they ask if you can make stuff up on the fly and talk nonsense and if you answer yes, you get the job. Thanks for sharing!

Hello guys, I have read through your comments. And I have a similar problem. I had received RFIE on January 28,2019 for my form I-485 which I responded to it. USCIS received my response on February 12, 2019. Since then I have not received any update on my case. Yesterday, I called USCIS and spoke with a T1 and an inquiry was put in because it has been 84 days since they received my response to RFIE. 

 

Could this means I might be in a queue to be schedule for an interview?
