Sundee - I've done all those things to only be told additional reviews needed to be done and once that is complete my petition would be approved.  Which I've come to learn that additional review means  background checks.  Of course they don't tell tell you what is causing the additional review or when we went in  background checks.  They just say be patient.  The last tier 2 I spoke to told me to stop calling (I've only called 4 times in a over the year since I filed ) and putting in service requests (I've put in 3 within that year).  I've read that because my husband's first name is a a very common name that  I can expect a very long background check.   He has no criminal records, etc.   I also read:  The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. Initial responses to this check generally take about two weeks. In about 80 percent of the cases, no match is found. Of the remaining 20 percent, most are resolved within six months. Less than one percent of cases subject to an FBI name check remain pending longer than six months.

I am just hoping we don't end up in  the 1%.

All I know is I dislike this process very much.  I think the system is severly broken.  If I could fix it, I would.  Even with extreme vetting, it should never take this long for a petition to approved.  We are US citizens and we have the right to have our spouse with us.

I'm just learning about the process while my case is proccesing, but I am wondering, Why just NSC requires this amount of time for doing these checks while other centers do the same in less time? Why this center is always taking so much time to do the work?

I understand your frustation since this is a paid service (and not a cheap one) and us as "customers" (for saying something) deserve a little of respect. I sincerely expect that all your delayed cases resolve and get approved soon, and that my case don't get more delayed...

Greetings!

I wish I knew why it takes NSC  so much longer to work the files compared to other service centers.  I think that is the million dollar question.    It would be nice to get some respect as I give them respect when I call customer service. I don't attack or scream at them when I call so give us the same courtesy.    Here is to hoping 2018 is a good year for all of us and that there aren't anymore delays.

Crysta I'm sorry  you were delayed because of additional reviews too.  I've never been given a time to wait for an answer.   I don't know if that is good or bad.  I would just be disappointed if that day came and went without approval.   I wonder if our files got stuck with the same officer who picked on our files for whatever reason.  We will get out of here.  I am hoping both of us get out of here soon too!  I hope you get an answer long before 1/28.

I'm sorry for you too that you have yet to hear anything back since you filed early Dec and I filed near the end of the month :( I'm starting to think that is the case that both our cases are probably with the same officer and I'm wondering if there are any OTHER Dec 2016 filers besides us that are still stuck. It's just so ridiculous that it takes them this long to process applications yet they're already approving April filers :( Granted, I am beyond happy they're receiving their approvals and are able to move past Hellbraska, but it just gets more and more discouraging every single day that passes without an approval.

Definitely mixed emotions about the approvals everyone have received.  I'm just sad it isn't happening for us.  I would also love to know if we are the only ones from December 2016 left stuck. It's way beyond time for us to receive our approvals.  Our approvals are coming but I don't know when... We will keep the faith even though it's hard to do some days/hours. I can't wait to no longer be Hellbraska's prisoner.

Hope everyone had good holidays and new year

I haven't posted my case tracker updates lately but today they cleaned up few February cases ,. Along with one April 4 case and April 16th getting RFE

Things should be back to normal front next week as no more holidays and most workers will be back from vacation

Then we'll start seeing lor more approvals and praying they clean up December files

Edit

My VJ timeline estimates my approval between Jan 2-Jan 13

😁😄🤣🤔🤔🤔 Can't wait for that day to scream in Joy when I get any kind of notification
