Thank you for your  response. I am a US citizen and we have a son together who is 6mths.  In that case will it be HOH since he’s not having any US income? Thanks

that is correct, since you are the only parent in the home with income you would use the HOH title, I am actually glade you brought this up I had not thought about this and knew I would have to be thinking along the same lines as what do I do.

what should I do?

petitioned in Feb 1

got petition approval notice on Nov 1

the case is not at NVC

called USCIS who said case was mailed out on Dec 6

NVC made inquiries with USCIS and told that case is at NSC.(Nebraska Service Center)

I don't understand why the case is at NSC or is it lost.

I have friends who petitioned in March and they have begun their NVC processing

If your case was mailed on Dec 6 to NVC then something is wrong.

You will have to keep calling until you reach a person to help you with this.

Hope you get results soon

Yesterday when I called, someone said it wasn’t shipped on dec 6, it’s still at the center. She will get a message to the center to ship the case to NVC. But I will hear about this in 15 days. So I’m not sure what I should now!!!

Try calling USCIS again and taking to tier 2 ?  Hopefully you'll get a nice rep

Ask for some kind of shipping confirmation if there is one they can provide

we are all here to help each other, if you think they might want proof you were out studying abroad, and you know you didn't fill out the I-407, I would go get the proof that you were enrolled in school and taking classes there to finish your degree, that way if that is the reason you aren't spending time doing it while you wait on the letter. I know it might be a waste of time, but it might not be also. I know many will say just wait for the paper, I guess I am the type to think ahead. and perhaps an over thinker lol. :) what I do know is even if it takes a little more time everything will work out in the end.

OK, so of all the things they could have asked for ... they want proof of my husbands citizenship! I mean, seriously? Not only did we send it this time, but also last time (I had a greencard before). And how else would our daughter, who was born over here, be a citizen too? Did they just make up something to ask for so it would look like they started on the case? I don't know if I should laugh or cry. But, I am relieved that it was not more complicated. One birth certificate in the mail: check ;-)

February 28th 2017 case was received. Still no update. Called uscis and the rep said its normal processing time. Latest update on processing time on USCIS says they were processing February 14th as of October 31st, with that my case should have been processed by now.  Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions please

Yes you are in Normal Processing Time. Uscis web site states working on cases up to Feb 14, 2017 and that’s their projected time, so all you can do is wait.. Most of us including myself didn’t receive approval for almost 1 year.

Keep patient and faith..
