I can't think of anything. But, we have been married for 14 years, but not lived together since 2005. First me and my daughter moved back to Norway so I could finish my education (he visited us here). Then he went to prison, so there was no point in going back before he got out. Which was in August this year. Maybe they just think it's a weird marriage? Which it is :-) But, we are married, have a eenage

Wait for the letter and it could be because of your husband going to prison..

Yes, I gave it up when I went back to study (like they said I should) ...

when the I-130 was filed did you also file I-407? when your spouse filed for the I-130 they will find you have already a green card, although you gave it up when you left you essentially abandoned your right to be a permanent resident, so I am going to just assume, but again might not be right, they are looking for the I-407 form,.

"Assuming the same family relationship exists through which you got your U.S. green card in the first place, your U.S. relative could start the process over from you, by filing an I-130 visa petition. By now, you're familiar with the rest of the process, all of which you would need to repeat.

Your application might raise questions with U.S. immigration authorities, however, who would find your old files, and wonder why you're applying for a green card when you already appear to have one. For that reason, some immigration lawyers recommend, just to make sure the record is clear, that you file Form I-407, Abandonment of Lawful Permanent Residence, before submitting the new I-130."

Ahhh, maybe that is why, then. No, I did not submit an I-407. I did attach a copy of my old approval letter, thinking they had it on record that I gave it up. Well, I guess I won't know for sure before I get the letter. My daughter is just so worried I'm going to get rejected.

The good news, though (for every Nebraska filer), is that they are working on late April cases ;-)

I don't think they can deny any case, they can draw it out looking for more and more evidence, I have never heard of them doing a complete denial. I am sure they are just looking for an explanation of why you left for so long and maybe proof that you went to study there.

I would tell your daughter not to worry, everything can be fixed :)

Ok, thank you for your kind and reassuring words. Fingers crossed while we wait for the letter :-)

we are all here to help each other, if you think they might want proof you were out studying abroad, and you know you didn't fill out the I-407, I would go get the proof that you were enrolled in school and taking classes there to finish your degree, that way if that is the reason you aren't spending time doing it while you wait on the letter. I know it might be a waste of time, but it might not be also. I know many will say just wait for the paper, I guess I am the type to think ahead. and perhaps an over thinker lol. :) what I do know is even if it takes a little more time everything will work out in the end.

They updated the website on the 26th, it says feb 14th. Y are we even paying  a fee to get good services?

I don't think there is really any kind of order, they seem to be moving forward, it looks like March cases are getting approvals and those in mid April are getting RFE letters. May will be coming soon I am a PD 5/8.

I just got an RFE ... PD April 17th. Is that usually a bad thing?

Me too, and it sucks! It's my worst nightmare, and it's taking forever to get the letter😢. Hang in there, we'll get through it and hopefully live happily ever after.

Hang in there its going to be okay, we have all waited a long time. I am sure it will be something simple.
