Thanks. I actually called and they brought up my case, but they would not relay any information to me because I'm not the petitioner. My husband will try and call them tomorrow.

That is so crazy because when u call they ask are you the petitioner, applicant, beneficiary or the attorney on record or something like that. So why ask who you are and when you tell them you can’t get info.. Silly to me

Message me when you get approved and I can tell you what they expect from the CEAC process. I believe Sydney does the whole NVC process online as well. If you have not done so already I would get your police check completed.

Oh thank you! We are in Melbourne. Does it make a difference? Hopefully it's all online! Got our police checks done 4 months ago and they're valid a year.

Yes, the key is being organized and getting your documents ready after your i130 is approved. It takes about 3-4 weeks for the NVC number and after that you are ready to roll. But the key is to have everything ready to avoid further delays. Feel free to hit me up anytime to ask what you need. Police certificate is vital and for some jurisdictions it takes up to 6 weeks. Make sure you are caught up with US taxes and if needed get tax transcripts for the past 3 years. Make sure the Canadian has a long form birth certificate with both parents listed. If you don't then just order it online. One of the most time consuming parts is putting together the domicile evidence (USC ties to US) which is looked at closely for Canadians.

Re domicile, what do you recommend? I saw the guide on here and am following that... driver licence, voter reg card, social security...?

I can't say for sure. I know the consulates with the following acronyms do CEAC (online NVC process):  BNS        FRN        HNK       MTL       RDJ         SYD

I took a copy of my spouse's license, employment letter, home ownership and his past lease, car insurance, moving quote, health insurance, bank stmts. They seem sticky with Canadians and I am presuming Australians with the domicile issue. If the US citizen is living and working in the US it isn't as much of an issue.

Thank you everyone!

What’s the fastest way and correct way to get a copy of my birth certificate in English?

I was born in México and became a US citizen through naturalization.

Our attorney recommends we get the long form for both of our birth certificates but they must be in English or translated.

How can I get mine in English?

My husband’s certificate in in English since he’s from Canada so that’s not an issue.

Has anyone had any experience with that??

Thanks in advance!

My husband is Colombian so his is all in Spanish. I had a friend translate it and sign it stating she was fluent in Spanish. My lawyer said it was good.

Very helpful thank you again! I wonder if Melbourne does CEAC... my wife used the CEAC website for a b1 visa last year, issued from Melbourne. Interestingly I can't see ANY info on Melbourne here, only sydney. Could it be that they only process Aussie visas through Sydney? Seems odd.
