You got the same statement they gave me yesterday. The snow storms are not helping either. Is the 8 weeks in addition to your wait time or when they received your case?

Altogether 8 weeks is the timeframe now for receiving case numbers.

Oh whao! mine was also sent on same date as yours. How did you get to know NVC  received your case. For me right now, i have no idea whether they've recieved ours or not.

I called them and that was what the rep told me that they received the case on the 26th but haven’t put it in their system yet.

Oh okay. Hopefully it doesn’t take that long because I see some K1 getting their numbers in less than a week

Thank you! If I may ask what is a regular case? Are there irregular cases?

I am not a pivot case, I have to mail all my papers to NVC, pivot cases get to submit their papers either electronically or by email if your embassy is in Naples, you are also a regular case...

I was told by NVC pivot cases are taking longer to put in the system

Yeah my embassy will be Naples which doesn't (unfortunately) file electronically but I think Naples you gotta mail all docs to NVC via courier.. Wait, wouldn't take longer to submit papers to NVC by mail? Why Electronic filing (pivot cases) take longer if it's electronic so instant reception from NVC?....

you would think, I don't know the reason it takes longer to get case # on pivot cases.

Hello,

We filled the I-130 on May, 17 and still haven't got approved. I sent an inquiry and they sent me a letter saying it is currently pending adjudication and that they had to perform additional reviews on the case. What does that mean exactly? It is being 10 months and we don't know what else to do about it! Thanks!

From my experience and receiving 3  of the exact same responses.  You are stuck in Background checks which can be short or long.   I waited just short of 13 months for approval.    There really isn't much to do but wait which is the worst.
