I wonder what the difference is between mail in cases and pivot cases

I wonder that too. As I said before I really don't know what happens behind those walls.

6 weeks here!it is sometimes hard to keep faith.

I totally understand you. I've been really sad and trying to keep calm. And it is bad because it is out of our hands, we can't do anything to help them. All we can do is to wait :(

I still keep my faith :(! I'm on my 8 week waiting for my CN and IIN and nothing yet. Oh God!

OMG!! 8 weeks is just insane...

I wish I understood how they work, because one of the first times I called NVC they told me that USCIS sent them my case electronically, which in my mind meant it should go faster since there are no documents to be scanned into their system. What could possibly take so long to assign a CN to electronically transmitted cases?? It's mind boggling.

Reading about the wait for NVC and case numbers is really disheartening for everyone waiting. I’m glad I got through NVC before this backlog. I hope you all get your case numbers soon because once you do the process seems to move pretty fast especially compared to USCIS. 😊

I know, right?! every day I try to read something new about them but I just can't find it. I never thought I would be stuck at NVC phase for so long and it is just frustrated. Well, I hope we all get this information soon. And I also thought the same thing about cases sent electronically. :(

I decided to give NVC a second call today after I was told my case will be sent to a supervisor for review for the heck of it and I got this pleasant lady on the phone who with all joy told me my case was received on the 26th of February and to give them 8 weeks. She proceeded to count out the weeks and told me to call back after April 23rd if I haven’t received a case number by then. I burst out laughing and she joined me. Now all I want to do is cry lol. No one said it was going to be easy right?

Pls when did USCIS send out your case to NVC

you might expect a case # 4 weeks from the time NVC received it.

That is much better than the 8weeks am getting. I know nothing is for sure with them but If that’s the case then am two weeks away.

I know that NVC is backlogged in that department for getting case # entered due to a number of case # for family members IE: brothers and sisters of USC that recently became current so they are working to get those in as well.

Tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks since nvc received my case.  And today they said it  can take  upto 8 weeks so I should wait.

Oh wow! So they take priority? Then the 8weeks is plausible now. Who will have thought NVC will be this slow

I was told last week they would be out of the bottleneck, but maybe with the weather, and the shut down they got behind again, unless of course more cases became active since then

You got the same statement they gave me yesterday. The snow storms are not helping either. Is the 8 weeks in addition to your wait time or when they received your case?

They change the wait time to 8weeks yesterday so I think they are still stuck. I was told my case will be sent to supervisor review when I called yesterday morning and I called back in the evening just to find out if that was done but the rep made no mention of that. I thought they would have put a note on my case to that effect. The surprising thing is a lot of k1 are getting their case numbers.
