Yes I can see why confused but how did u get notified that you’re approved? You must ask to speak to a tier 2 to confirm the approval. Call and ask to speak to a tier 2

The USCIS told me our case was approved in the message I attached. It was an email response to an inquiry I sent them from their website.

I asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer but the officer on the telephone told me that he couldn't connect me to a Tier 2 officer because I was overseas. And they won't update the My Status updates on their website either.

So, we're just waiting to receive the approval letter in the snail mail :D and physically see on paper whether our case has really been approved or not!

Hi all.

Just to share, I'm a June 16th 2017 filer (I-130 for child of USC). And my case has just been approved by Nebraska!!

Case Was Approved
On February 9, 2018, we approved your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number LINXXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

So i guess now i have 3 weeks before i contact NVC for the next visa process?

Then medical, and after that...... Visa in hand?

Congratulations!!!

I think you're correct with the timeline. It usually says though that it can take up to 6 weeks for the NVC to receive the case. Hopefully it won't take that long. Good luck :)

You’re welcome... Make sure you also have original or certified copy of marriage certificate and make copy of it to send to NVC. Also you need copy of inside of your husbands passport. I printed all out in color so it can be seen clearly.

I have our original and certified copy of our  marriage certificate, so I have to take it to Ghana with me for my husbands interview plus copies of so many documents that they already have.. They keep saying bring original and a copy, so I’m going to be at my printer again.. Wow, does it ever end?

Right?!!!! Hahahaha! Omg! It seems will never ends but I will to keep my faith lol All right! I will make sure that I put everything in color, it is better.

I also enclosed inside photo copy of my passport ( US Citizen) shows proof of Spouse being a US Citizen)

I will do that too. Because he doesn't have his birthday certificate. He sent the original when he filled the I-130. So in this case, he can use his passport as a proof of U.S Citzen, right?! So that's awesome!!!!

Keep checking on the site. I was approved on Jan 16th but I still haven’t received the approval letter in the mail. I am waiting for the 1 month mark to place a call.

NVC has received the package though.

CONGRATS!!! :jest::dancing:

I would start calling NVC in a couple of weeks to see if they received your case. Don't panic if they say it can take up to 6 weeks. Just keep calling until they give you an invoice and case number. Start gathering all of your documents for NVC so when you do get your number you just need to submit them. Good luck :)

Well, he is in military course right now in his birth city! I was thinking to use his passport as a proof of U.S. Citzen. Or we will also need to send the Birth Certificate AND his passport?
