I am sorry to hear your grief is continuing with NVC. I know you've had a rough time. This process is not for the faint hearted. Keep the faith you will get through this.

I chose "what is the status of my case" and asked if I had a case and invoice number. Usually NVC answered generically if my case was not in the system. Once it was they said the information would be coming shortly and then forwarded the information.

I was told the day before I got my case number I would have to wait up to 6 weeks for it. The truth is nobody at NVC knows when your case will be processed. Just keep inquiring until you get the information.

Acidrain I am keeping the faith some days/moments are rougher than others.  I know the light at the end of tunnel will be here soon.  As long as this doesn't take as long as Nebraska, I will be happy.  I selected a different option on my inquiry request.  I am sure they will either ignore it since i picked the wrong one or send me a nasty message.  No matter, what I will call them tomorrow.  I will keep trying to obtain my case number.  At least I have the documents ready as much as I can have them ready for the next stage.

That's the frustrating part that others  get it so fast.  They tell people different stories and then you are given false hope.  I guess we should've learned by now we just have to wait and be  patient.  Call tomorrow if they don't respond to your email.

Yes! I agree with you and sometimes I can't understand. There are some people that gets so fast and others not. There was a girl I read about and they said to her that she would have to wait up 2 weeks to receive then she called the next day and guess what? They gave to her...:o

Keep me posted with how they respond or if you get your case number.

I would be really surprised if the NVC took as long as Nebraska for you. I understand your frustration as you've had to wait a long time for your i130. The fortunate part is the beneficiary can call NVC whereas with USCIS you can't. I used to get the message that my case was not in their system and it can take up to 6 weeks. Just keep trying. I felt bad to keep calling and inquiring but I was eager to move the process along. That's great you have all your documents ready for the NVC stage. It will make things go a lot faster. I know it doesn't feel like it but at some point there will be a resolution to your case.

For those that have called and spoken to tier 2, I have a couple of questions.

1. What did you say to get transferred to a tier 2?

2. What did you say to the tier 2 officer once you got a hold of one?

3. What is the phone number?

I don't know what time they open I would assume 8:00 a.m. and they close at midnight.  FYI - They are closed today.

At least each time I called they confirmed they received my case on the 22nd.  They have to understand at this stage of the game we are eager to push forward.  There will be resolution.  I have to remember it's not about my time schedule and when I want.  Just want my turn.

Good day friends, how can I know that my i-130 case is on system already?

well NVC is closed today for some reason, and I know they haven't gotten my case and it was sent to DOS same day as yours was approved.

1. If you are out of processing times (according to the USCIS website) you can say you would like to put in a service request. You will have to be transferred to Tier 2 to do that. You can request Tier 2 to see if your petition is approved but there is a chance they may not transfer your call. My spouse once had to call 3 different times in the same day to get transferred. Tier 2 can see if anyone has touched your case, if they are working on it and if there is an approval.

2. In the case where we were not out of processing times my spouse explained how eager he was to be reunited with his wife and son. All the TIer 2 people he spoke to were very nice and helpful. They would tell him what the status of our case was. Sometimes it would take a couple hours to get a call back and in some cases nobody called back. It depends on how busy they are.

3. You can call the regular USCIS 1-800 phone number and a Tier 1 person must transfer your call or arrange a call back.
