Day 252 here. I'm going insane as well.

Vincent & Alejo AND spannerfrog, pls don’t loose your sanity. This is a long process and it will try your patience but you must keep strong...

I myself didn’t get approved for almost 1 year. I was 6 days shy of it being 1 year and I can tell you that you feel helpless and stressed that you can’t think straight, but the day comes that you get approved, so hang in there. Find people to talk to that are going thru this process because others that aren’t have NO IDEA of what this feels like unless they themselves are doing it or been through it before.

This group is to offer support and guidance, so when your down, reach out because we are here for you....

I got my approved in mail yesterday, how long does it take for NVC to receive it?

It depends... just keeping checking your mail and if you have uscis app, check it as it should say sent to “Dept Of State” when it’s mailed off to them...

Hey Guys, how are you? I hope everyone is well and also, NEVER lose your faith. We all know that it is a long process and we have to be patience (I think it is our biggest test of patience we already ever had in our lives haha). As I always say "We can cry trough a night but the happiness comes in the morning" so I wish everyone always the best :)

Well guys, I'm writing here because I need some opinions. My case is already at NVC, I already got the NOA2 on Dec 28, 2017 and I found out today that they received my process from USCIS on Jan 18 by a phone call. When I was talking to the operator she said my process still haven't entered in the system and it wouldn't be possible to provide my Case Number (CN) and the Invoice Identification Number (IIN). My question are: How long does it usually takes for me to get my Case Number and IIN? Should I call to NVC every day then I would be pushing them to make this faster?  Do I get ANY letter saying that they received my case OR  do I get a letter when they create my Case Number and IIN? (Please! I'm a little bit confused in this last one).

Also, I got an attorney a little bit before my NOA2 gets on my hands and I was wondering if I keep calling to NVC would it interfere or disturb his job? Because I was reading the steps about the process trough the NVC and a lot of people says that is really good to keep calling them. Well when you/attorney have to submit the DS-261 you/attorney have to put the addresses and emails but I'm a little bit confused because my attorney don't have my email and I want to know every step receiving emails. Should I tell him to put my email? PS: I called him yesterday and he was a little bit rude saying that he does everything and I don't do anything.

Thank you guys! Have an awesome weekend and let's keep praying! :)

After NVC receives your file it takes abt 2 or 3 weeks to receive your Case & Invoice #. Your Lawyer and you should receive a email from NVC with case # and Invoice #. You will then be instructed to pick a agent (form DS261) but because you have a Lawyer you won’t get that option to choose. You then pay fees and since you have a lawyer they should instruct you on your case and all documents you will need.

I wouldn’t call NVC unless 2 weeks pass without hearing from them...

Good luck with everything... Keep us posted...

When you filed your 1-130 I do believe your Email was put in the form and Your Lawyer when filing your Forms had to sign a form stating he or she is representing u, so this is how they already have your email. If you didn’t have a Lawyer in the beginning of the process and you have one now, then Your Lawyer should notify them. We pay lawyers to do the work, so let them call. Keep on your Lawyer as most of them collect your money and then they drag their feet because it’s not them trying to get their loved ones here, so keep on Lawyer abt everything.

Hi ASMS, Yes my file was sent to NVC on Nov 28, 2017 and on Dec 11 or Dec 12 they sent me my case # and Invoice #. I paid my fees of 120 & 325, then filed the DS260 and them mailed off documents and also waiting to see if I’m granted a expedite as I requested.

I have a lawyer so it seems when u have a lawyer you receive your case # in abt 2 weeks, so right now all for me is moving along...For now I’m just waiting..

That's great!

We have a lawyer, so I hope it helps to speed that part as you said. I told him today than we will be calling, even when he said he will,   Trying to not miss anything about the process.

How long ago did NVC receive your file?
