It feels like they've come to a complete halt. I was hoping for a June NOA1 approval by February but........

Keep in mind any approvals you see on the app or online got approved up to a week ago. Most people are getting approvals in the mail before they see it online.

Another 2 cases updated Nebraska

NOA1 Feb 6 - Andorra (small country in Europe) - approved

NOA Feb 13 - Costa Rica - request for additional evidence

Judging on the data I see they are catching up on past Nov/Dec filers. Then processing late Jan - mid Feb filers with the odd late Feb getting approved. The range of approvals is around 270-300 days with some going above and below that. Anyone who filed a K3 (i129 & i130) will probably see another 30-60 days.

Visa Journey's timeline was actually quite useful and within 2 weeks for my case when trying to predict an approval.

Does anyone know how each case is selected to a service center. Because I just seen a person from my same state that is at different service center And approved already????  Also why do people from Philippines get approved faster?

USCIS claims it is entirely random. It feels like certain people win the lottery. Nebraska is the largest service center so there is a higher chance to be sent there.

I am not sure for certain if the Philippines get approved quicker. There are plenty of cases in which many had to wait the full time. Many seem to have success filing expedites. It depends on a countries situation and whether USCIS recognizes the need to expedite a petition. You will see quite a few people right now successfully expediting from Haiti because of their natural disaster situation.

But if say one service center is caught up will they transfer cases, I just don't think it's fair for one center to be processing June cases while other center is in January....

Trust me I have experienced the long wait as it took my petition 287 days to get approved. Several people have tried to raise this issue with USCIS (including myself) as to the discrepancy in processing times but never heard a response.

I can only hope for those who are still waiting USCIS will do something about the long wait times. In the past they have transferred files to even case load but it hasn't happened since about Feb. Keep in mind if they transfer cases they still have 60 additional days (2 months) to make a decision.

I am so so happy for you!!!!  I've been following your story on  here for a several months now.  Thank God you were approved before your one year PD date.  I hope  the next stage is faster and smooth and you are reunited with your husband very, very soon.  At least at the next stage, you can actually talk to people about your case and you aren't stuck in a black hole of silence.  CONGRATULATIONS and I wish you and your husband the very best!!!!!

Thank you Steph&Bobo

Yes it was really a long wait and I’m so anxious to see my husband and be with him to start our life. This seperation time really hurts and I pray for all this to soon be over and my husband and I united..

God’s timing is how it works 😀

Yaaayy! Congratulations!!! My PD is Dec 30, 2016...hopefully I'll be able to follow you soon.

When asking to speak to a Tier 2, did they start asking questions as to why you were calling for a tier 2? I've been trying to speak to one but the initial person who would answer would always try to steer the conversation so that I can move on and not be transferred.

Crysta, yes you will follow soon and thank you . You filed 1 month after me so yes your day is coming.

When I called I just straight said I want to speak to a tier 2 and they transferred my call to them. The rep said is there anything I can assist u with and I said no and then they guy transferred my call, so be persistent..I think some reps do try to steer u away from a tier 2 but insist and if u get transferred and there a wait they will call u back.

Try it and let me know if u got through...

Im a long time lurker and never have posted, however hated not knowing if someone was approved for expedite or if they were just lucky so thought I should share my approval

The May 10th filer was me and I was approved on expedite. I heard from someone that I know that works helping others fill out forms at a non profit organization that some expedite requests due to financial loss because of the hurricanes were approved so I called and requested one. I took a chance knowing it might delay my case further as I've heard requesting expedites sometimes does more damage then good.

When i called a week later for a status and spoke to a tier 2 they told me that they had a list of counties that were declared disaster areas here in FL as well as TX and I didnt need to submit any evidence of financial loss unless requested. I got together stacks of documents, insurance claims, fema paperwork, pictures etc so when i got the request, i can send it right away, however, I never received a request for evidence. A week after that call, I received notification that my case was approved and sent to dept of state.

I am only sharing my experience, I am not saying all requests are handled the same. I just wanted to clarify for everyone who was wondering

Wishing everyone the best on this journey

Thanks for sharing your story and I’m hoping for a fast recovery on your losses.

You will get though all this and I wish u the best in your future journeys.

God bless you

Some good news for Nebraska filers who are waiting.

NOA1 Feb 27 - Tunisia - approved

This is the latest approval I have seen come out of Nebraska so hopefully they are starting to work on late Feb cases.
