Ok,  the police reports will be needed when CR1 goes to next stage (NVC) when he receives the NOA2 

you do need all to be in native language with English translations 

If you can not do translators, send to him in the French and German and let him find a US translator in NY that can certify them

 

the other things like Passport pages and birth certificate should have gone in with application

Is there a way to know where the petition went? Let's be positive and hope that it will not take that long :)

So just to make sure it's understood, you will be applying for a US visa from France. The US embassy in France will handle your interview. As this embassy is in France then you won't need to translate your French documents.

06/27/2017: NOA1 (technically a RFE as we were missing beneficiary ID)

07/06/2017: NOA2

07/12/2017: Case assigned by Juarez embassy

07/17/2017: Packet 3 received

08/15/2017: Interview/Approval!

08/22/2017: Visa received via DHL

09/03/2017: POE

09/16/2017: Permanent Resident Card received

 

Total days from NOA1 to approval: 49

It is on the letter he gets. and if your case number starts with YSC it is potomac, LIN is Nebraska, SRC is Texas, EAC is Vermont and WAC is Califorina

You can translate everything yourself, as long as you certify (provide a statement on the document) that you are fluent in both languages and translation is accurate.
