Hi guys, hope all is well.

I have 2 questions:

1.  I have received my NOA 2 about more than a week already but when I check the status online through USCIS, it still indicate the 1st notice of the date I submitted my paperwork.  I'm wondering if I can check it somewhere else to see the status of when it sends my file to Vietnam?

2.  What should I expect from this point on or what do you guys recommend me do at this point?  In the case I need to request a soft copy of the NOA3 online, how can I do that?

Please help.  Thank you so much

The next step is to wait for the NVC case number. You can start calling the NVC in the next few weeks to see if they can provide you with the number over the phone. If you don't want to call, they do send you a physical letter that contains the NVC case number. You can expect to receive this letter in about 1-2 months, so most end up calling and asking for it. Once you have the case number, you can track where your case is using the CEAC tracker (https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx).

As long as you have the paper copy of the NOA2, you don't need the wait for your USCIS case status to change. Mine never changed and still says 'case received' even though we have now completed the K1 process. :P

1. Wait another week, then call NVC and ask for the HCM-XXXX number. Once you have it, you can track it as RJandHamid said above. It usually takes anywhere from 2 wks to a month for NVC to get everything scanned in their system and send you a letter with your HCM- number.

2. You cannot get a copy of the NOA2. The one they mail you is the only copy you will get.

I received my NOA 2 letter in the  mail the day before I got the email and text notice.. Also it took almost 2 months to reflect on the uscis website. I received 2 additional emails after the NOA 2 email with links to NVC website to choose agent and pay AOS/Visa  bill 2 days later. I did not get a text message along with email from NVC like I did with USCIS so make sure you are checking your email on the daily. :D

The OP is filing for a K-1 Visa, which is different from yours. The process is quite different.
