Thanks for advice in advance. I applied for ROC based on thr 3 year rule and currently have been waiting 14 months. My 2 year GC expires next month, therefore I made an infopass appointment to get I-551 in my passport. As you know, they took away my GC and right now the only document I have is that stamp. Shortly after I received a notice regarding N-400 interview for the application I sent just less than 2 months ago. Mind you, I still did not receive the 10 year GC and based on my service center I expected to wait to get it around January (2 months from now). Now, the required list of N-400 interview states that I have to bring Permanent Resident Card. I do not have it. I only have that stamp. Will the USCIS accept the i-551 as a sufficient proof? Why did they schedule me for interview so early? I am obviously exited but nervous as I do not want them to reject my application since I will be missing one document they require (plastic GC). I heard of the combined interview for ROC and N-400, is that what it is and I will never receive my GC, just the naturalization certificate?

That's fine. I-551 stamp is essentially your current GC. If you don't receive an approval letter for your I-751 (between now and N400 interview), expect the upcoming N400 interview to be a joint I-751/N400 interview. Make sure your spouse come with you to the interview. They will first interview you guys together and get the I-751 out of the way; then do your N400 interview afterwards.Based on other's experiences, you'll never get another plastic GC if your N400 gets approved; you'll go to oath ceremony with that I-551 stamp too. Good luck!
