Do I need to travel back to US before husband's consular interview?

I filed I-130 for my husband back in August. We currently both live abroad together. Luckily, I have a relative in the US who is willing to co-sponsor my husband. Now my question is do I need to travel back to the US to establish domicile before NVC step and my husband's consular interview? OR is this unnecessary since there's a co-sponsor?

Any input is highly appreciated :)

you do need to have domicile here in the US / there will be at least a one year wait for the interview so you have time now to get back to US and do what needs to be done

Depending on your situation, you might not need to travel back to the US. Evidence of intent to re-establish domicile includes bank accounts, credit cards, keeping your driver's license current, and having a rental agreement. If you have those you might be ok. I personally used less, though my wife wasn't really asked about it during her interview.

This is helpful, If I go back and set up a few of these things, then we don't have to stay apart the whole year till he gets the visa.

Correct. You can actually do all of these things online. It's easy for a US citizen to open bank and credit card accounts online (just be sure to use a VPN). At least in Texas you can renew your license online under some conditions and we were able to get an apartment online as well.
