Hi all,

I worked aboard for a few  months and need to file my tax return next month, so does anyone know  what form or online application we need to file tax return form overseas ? is there any deferent  form from when you are inside or out side of USA? I used to use TurboTax so I am not sure if I can use this soft wear or not.

Thank you

You can probably still use Turbo Tax - you will just need to  declare the international income under "foreign income" since you won't have a 1099 or W2 for that income. I'm pretty sure TurboTax will allow you to do that.

It does allow you to do that because I have done it before.

Did you file an extension at all? Luckily I had 2 kids on my tax return so it was a wash pretty much and boy was my x-wife mad. But be advised the first $94k of foreign income is tax deductible as long as you file the return. But since you didn't pay medicare/ss then you might have to pay it.

No not extension. last year I was unemployed and didn't file my 2016 tax return but from May this year I started to work and I need to do my ta return on January, so this year is my first year. I have no kids and just my husband which Is separate tax return .

So make sure to file an extension next year so that you can do it. Don't worry because you can write off alot of things when working abroad.
