I called the Doctor for the medical Exam in Toronto and he said that the X-ray is mandatory  and that the US embassy in Montreal would not accept a medical result without  X-ray,  he went further to say that  he uses a double Lead covering to cover the pregnant woman and that he dose it every week for pregnant women who comes for the medical test. I know that X-ray is contraindicated in pregnancy and I am not comfortable doing it,  the Doctor said that the Lead covering is 100% efficient. I am so surprised about  this

I have never seen it being waived for pregnant women.  You can delay the process and let the consulate know you will contact them after you had the baby; or you can have the x-ray while being protected by the lead shield.  If you have more questions, I suggest you discuss it with the doctor or midwife following your pregnancy.

Note:  Had I been pregnant, I would have delayed the process - maternal  and delivery care is also better in Canada in my experience.
