AOS transfer interview time and length

I was curious about AOS. I know lots of times it gets transferred to CSC correct? Generally, when you don't have an interview, which I also know is somewhat random. 

 

My question is does it originally still  start at the local office? We do biometrics there, so I'm curious. My local office's i485 processing date as of September 30th is August 1st. I filed September 22nd. So, my local office date should be any day now. I'm just wondering if I end up not getting an interview and get transferred would it hugely delay me? Considering, my local office is basically ahead of everybody else in terms of processing times?

I think its the other way around, it starts at NBC (not CSC) and then gets transferred to your local office. Getting your biometrics completed does not mean your file is already there.

 

Or when you say it gets transferred to CSC - do you mean that for those cases with interviews waived they go from NBC to CSC?

Yes, that's what I mean. Basically, if mine gets transferred because my interview is waived it would theoretically delay my green card. Since my local office is a lot further ahead in processing times compared to CSC.

Oh ok i get it now. Well, people say that interviews are more prevalent now so fingers crossed you will get an interview!

NBC decides if there's an interview waiver or not, if there is an interview waiver they will send you a decision. From what I can understand it's rare that they transfer cases to other Service Centers, so expect your case to be stuck at NBC until they either make a decision on your case or send it to your local field office.
