Processing times for visa being mailed out in the UK?

 We just got approval yesterday (yay!).... but they said it could be up to 17 working days until he gets his visa in the mail. 

Anyone else get approved in the last month in London that can tell me how long it took for you get it? If it is 17 working days then it will only give us a week for him to get here and get our marriage license in order to make our wedding date, a bit nervous.  Thank you!

7 days has been the average for a couple of years now. You've got Thanksgiving closure to deal with so next Friday may not happen for you but you maybe by Monday/Tuesday of the following week.  Check your CEAC status. It will change from Ready, to AP, to Issued. Also it will say Immigrant now, but they will switch it over to say Non-Immigrant before it's issued. Then maybe two days more before you get the courier email saying delivery next day. It isn't mailed. It is turned over to the courier there in the embassy. They pack it up and deliver. The courier works on Thanksgiving so that's a plus if it gets issued by Wednesday.

Changing to "nonimmigrant" is a sign it is moving through the final processes instead of just sitting in a pile somewhere. That is not always a day 2 thing. The times will vary. Typicalyl status will still say Ready. And you can't always put too much into those changes because it's not always 100% reliable. It will eventually say Issued which means it's been printed and ready to be turned over to the courier to package up the passport and the white envelope and prepare for the delivery.
