My fiance is just finishing up his Ait and he is going to be stationed in Texas. I am from the United kingdom, We obviously want to live together and then get married but don't know where to start. If I apply for a k1 visa how does that work if I cannot live with him in the army if we are not married? Is there a special circumstance for that? Or do we apply for k1 visa and I would have to stay in a hotel or something until we got married then wait for us to get housing together while we wait for our housing to get organised? It just makes it so much more difficult because we can't actually live together before we are married. Please help I need lots of advice haha.

Thankyou,

 Michelle Keenan

you can apply for the K1 visa now. It takes 6-8 months to get approved. Then when it's approved, you travel to the US, marry your fiance and start living with him in a military residence. With a K1 visa, you actually stay in your home country until it's approved, although occasional visits are permitted.

Check out the guides section on this website: http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides/

You could also get married now and apply for a CR1 visa. It takes a bit longer but it's cheaper and you can start working right after entering the US.
