From this moment forward I would like all my vast network of really great friends here, on both sides of the ditch to refer to me as  Filipino. Failure to do so will result in swift reporting .

What makes it even more complex is that I don't even know what to identify too. My skin colour is obviously not white, but for some strange reason, i have to identify as white.

Speaking about how to cause people an identity crisis.

He seems a bit touched, no?  Even without the whole transracial thing, he'd be the type to be a transspecies unicorn or something. 🦄🦄

I posted this article a few days ago with the title "White XXXXXX claims to be Filipino. Is this white privilege?" And the thread magically disappeared. Go figure.  But my other thread in the Filipino forum remained with an edited title.  I might be banned for a few days for just pointing this out lol

See this exactly why this race identity stuff should be terminated. People just don't know what their identity is these days.

Agreed.  I was brought up to look at a person as a person, but I suppose that doesn’t fit with the identity politics of today.

I believe that is the only thing that matters: the person. I reluctantly answer " don't want to disclose" when I come across that awkward question. Sometimes they just don't give you the option, not even "other". Because what it says I am, I'm really not. But since I'm from a certain region I have to stick to what they tell me I am. So I understand your question about your wife. Russia doesnt only have a Caucasian population, but people of Asian descent as well.

Besides, this only messes people's mind up. Last year one of my kids was describing two kids from her class. Both from two different races. Instead of mentioning the race, she described what they were wearing so that I understood who she was talking about. Yesterday she was talking to her brother in the backseat and I hear her say: no, I mean the other kid..the black one.

It made me realize that kids are being influenced by all of this race and identity politics. Because I certainly don't point out the race since I really don't care what color a person has.
