When I went to the Practice Nurse to get mine and my son's jabs sorted out, I got given the MMR jab. Then the Nurse looked at my records and realised that I had, in fact, already had German Measles, Mumps and Measles! I got jabbed for nothing! Good job I have no fear of needles, otherwise I'd of been right pissed off.

She didn't charge me though, which was a good thing. In fact, we were only charged for the Hep B, none of the others.

Ummh .. how do they check those? Where are they pulling the medical records of when I have which measles or other bumps when I was a kid???

I have only a small card (paper, not plastic) that I got from elementary school, and that isn't even in English, for what comes to my vaccination history.

I haven't got full medical records in any country so that's all I have. .. and I'm not into the idea of getting unneeded shots.

Well, my illness dates were in my GP's records. My Mum had obviously called out the doctor to me when I had those illnesses, hence they were noted on my records. I remember the German Measles and Mumps as I had them two successive Christmases in a row....I spent the entire time huddled up on the sofa. Poor me...

Hi, I have been to get my vaccination history from my doctors for my fiancee visa today and I had my tetanus while I was there. The nurse told me that I will probably need the MMR as I only had rubella and measles when I was younger and not mumps but that I had to wait a month for the first jab and then had to wait a further 3 months for the second one. I can't wait that long - it's been long enough!!

Does anyone know if this is true as I have read different things on this forum?

When i got my shots the doctor told me that MMR must be done in 3 stages: first shot, second shot after 30 days, third one after 6 months. ;)

I had to have 2 MMR jabs but only had to wait 28 days in between.

Same for me. I had my first MMR shot on Monday and I have to go back for another in 1 month.

I kinda freaked out when I noticed i lost my vaccination booklet in my move from germany to canada ( wich was almost 20 years ago _ I tryed everything to get a copy of my vaccinations without resolts , I got advise from my doctor to go to a clsc travel clinique here in canada where they give vaccinations required specialy for traveling , well thats what I did they told me best thing to avoid any delay with the immigration since i cant prove any of my chilhood vaccinations to do the vaccinations they require again, they can do it right there at the office , they informd me its ok to even get all the vaccinations at one visit accept the hepatitis shot , so i agread they preformd a blood test for the varicella whitch came back positive so i didnt need that shot , anyhow to make a long story short they gave I just had my second hepatitis shot yesterday 1 month after the first and all the other shots , and had hardly any side effects lil fever and sore but was able to do daily activitis
