Hey Folks,

I am just wondering if anyone has experience traveling from Colombia with expired GC and with I-797?

I know now my wife will be legally accepted here with card and letter but just want to make sure Colombian Airlines recognize her ability to return to US with that letter.

Thanks!

She should be able to board but I guess that depends on the airline she will use to travel. I read old posts that some people never encountered problems but others did. Also depends on the airline staff if they are well trained to recognize all the permitted documents to travel with. Maybe its a good idea that you call the airlines to make sure there is no problem with that to give you peace of mind.

My wife traveled to and from Cali Colombia in August with an expired green card + extension letter, and she encountered no problems with the airlines nor re-entry in Miami. Can't remember what airline she used but it was probably Avianca. Good luck.
