SSN

On Silvia's SSN card it states able to work with proper authorization, or something to that effect. Since she has recieved her green card should or does she need to change this or will it matter?

I don't think it actually changes the fact that she is legally able to work now, but if asked for her SSN by an employer, it could cause some doubt on the employer's part as to whether she is legally able to work or not.

I wanted to make sure there would be no such problems with employers, so I just decided I had to head down to the SSA office and get a new card without the notation. They just need to see her Green Card, passport, etc. and the card arrives a week later.

I would apply, since with an unrestricted SSN card he has work authorization that never expires.

You don't need to wait for your I-551 card to change the name on your SSN record. If your marriage certificate has your age or date of birth, that and your EAD card will work.
