I-751 filing close to deadline

Hi, it's been awhile since I've posted. I've finally saved up enough money that I can safely file our removal of conditions but we're currently 9 days out from the anniversary date & waiting on some affidavits to be sent to us. I'm worried because I'm filing so close that my husband will be denied. Also, we don't have much evidence. We are both very private individuals, don't take many photos & money is tight so we don't travel often. We have a joint bank account, he's on my health insurance plan & we visit my parents weekly. I've seen others send in pounds of evidence. Should I be concerned? If we do end up getting an interview, won't that just make it easier for us to prove we are indeed married?

what about:

* lease or mortgage document

* kids?

* utility bills with both names to show you're living together (or electric in your name and cable in your spouse's)

* state IDs with same address

* tax returns married filed jointly

* other types of insurance (car, renters/homeowners, jewelry)

* power of attorney / living will

Concentrate on "material' evidence, photos is secondary evidence anyway. I think most of the things to turn in are very private (look at the guides and evidence list in instructions)

You can't send what doesn't exist.

Affidavits and any other evidence can be sent at a later date once you have your receipt - your priority is getting the form in before the deadline.

Yes! As @mindthegap says: don't wait. There will be plenty of time (about a year at minimum) to send in more information... but get that application in now, so you don't run out of time to submit. Even now I would advise you to send it by courier so you know it got there in time. USPS is not reliable enough to depend on, this close to the deadline, and with weekends and a holiday between now and then!

Absolutely.

Vermont address accepts FedEx/UPS too.

Exactly! Send the affidavits and other evidence later- send off that application ASAP and overnight it.  Make sure it's filled out correctly (there's confusion over who the petitioner vs spouse is so make sure that's ok), make sure it's signed, and have the check for the proper amount, etc.  @DrEllaNJgave a great list of ideas for evidence and you can work on compiling  after your application is sent in.

We sent ours two weeks prior to deadline by 3-day Priority by USPS; it got to VSC in under 2 days. That was still too close for comfort. 

Stay up all night or take a day off work if you have to.. prioritize on sending what you have asap.

I can send in evidence later? I'm ok to just mail off the application without evidence just yet? Matt is the beneficiary to my life insurance but I wasn't able to change it until this year and I just finished open enrollment last week so I haven't been mailed the papers yet.

I was wondering the same thing. Also, do I write the check out for the full amount or a separate one for the biometric fee?

Yes, on the "I-751 receipt notice" (I-797C Notice of Action (NOA)) it tells you how to send further documentation between now and when they take action on your case. 

Once you get the letter, make copies of it, because you will include a copy with any additional evidence you send.
