To all those who will be doing I-693 here in SF, I strongly recommend Dr. MJ Takis at San Bruno. Aside from being warm and friendly, you can also get the results in just a week.

There is also Dr Dong Lin in San Francisco. Results in a day if you have all your lab tests. Charges $150 for exam only

Just to share we had our interview last Feb 14 but due to emergency I have to go back to my country 2 days after.  After a week, I used my EAD combo card going back to US, SFO airport. I just showed my EAD to the immigration, they took my picture and biometrics and escorted me to Detention office. I have to wait 30 minutes but after that they just gave me back my passport and EAD no questions asked.

That's scary. Glad they didn't bother you much at the airport. How did your interview go?

Our interview is in SJ office on Feb 14 at 715am. We were there by 630am and they let us in at 7am. It’s pretty fast maybe because we’re early. We were called at exactly 715am. We were just asked about our future plans and the Y/N questions in the AOS. Asked for my birth certificate original, bank joint account and rental lease agreement. The interview just took 20mins. The officer said we just have to wait 1-2 weeks. But after 5 days the status changed to New Card is being produced. My green card is expected to arrive tomorrow.

  • 2 weeks later...

For the longest time ever I thought our field office would be San Jose, because our lawyer said so. I didn't know that our zip code belongs to the San Francisco office.

Just to share my timeline:

11/22/2019 submitted everything

11/26/2019 NOA received

12/19/2019 biometrics

01/30/2020 I-485: ready to be scheduled for an interview

03/09/2020 I-765: new card is being produced

to be on the optimistic side and when looking at the timelines here, the 17-20 months wait time for an interview is quite long isn't it? I see some people waiting only a couple of months. But of course, I could be the one that needs to wait 20 months... (why not 😥)

Wow! That's crazy! Do you have any idea why your case is being processed so quickly?

We submitted more than a month before you. Also SF field office. So far, nothing.

I have no idea! And from now on it could still be a very long time until I get an interview date... very weird. I hope you get yours soon!

Really? So it's common to have a big gap between being notified "ready to schedule interview" and actually scheduling the interview?

Hopefully you'll get it soon. I filed in September and my interview is tomorrow in SF.

Common for some people whenever their field office is busy but I’ve also seen people that don’t have to wait at all!
