Rescheduling London DV interview

Hi everyone,

 

I am an Australian citizen living in London. I'm preparing for my DV-2018 interview on December 6th at the London consulate. It's taking longer than I expected for some of my supporting documents to arrive from Australia and I would like to reschedule my interview. Can anyone tell me how I go about that? I have tried calling the Consulate and followed the automatic prompts to a person in Immigration Visas but they knew nothing about the DV interviews and directed me to the USCIS website which was of no help.

 

When I registered my appointment online and booked the DX courier collection location, the link I followed said I would be able to cancel or reschedule the appointment after registering but I can see no option for rescheduling. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

  There are some that recommend going to the interview as scheduled and getting a soft refusal for the missing docs

DON’T reschedule the interview unless it’s something like a medical emergency. If the stuff is still missing, you’ll be put into “administrative processing” - also called a 221g refusal (not a proper denial) pending submission of documents. Once you get the docs, you'll send them to the embassy and they’ll issue you a visa.

 

London is not easy to reschedule and usually you have to cancel before you have a new slot. There was a poster on britsimon’s website who rescheduled from I think January 17, except they never gave her a new date and she lost out when visas ran out two weeks before the end of the last fiscal year. About the only embassy I have heard success stories on rescheduling is Sydney, almost all the rest seem high risk to do so, and London definitely falls in as being one of those judging by the stories out there.
