Hey everyone. Last week I filed online to change my address on the USCIS website. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes before they notify you that they received the request?

When we did it recently, we printed the completed AR11 from the screen... my recollection is that it confirms on the screen that you have submitted it..  and we have never received anything from them acknowledging its receipt,  other than the on screen notification.

I printed the paper also, it says "Success! Address Change Request Submitted." It doesn't say that it was accepted. I don't know, maybe that's all there is to it.

Have your USC spouses submitted form I-865 Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address as well?

https://www.uscis.gov/i-865

When we moved, I received AR-11 on-line confirmation, and later, my husband (USC) got his I-865 confirmation via regular mail.

Just few suggestions that could be helpful (from our experience) :

1. Submit I-865 (if you didn't do that yet)

2.  Notify your local Post Office, about change of your address. - despite the fact we both received confirmations and even USCIS web site was updated "our new address has been received"... it was such a "surprise" 3 months later some Letters form USCIS arrived to our previous address.

I believe there is a form you have to fill out with your Post Office, and it's valid for 6 months, then you can update this again - if something with your names arrives at your old address, the Post Office will direct it to you to your new address - this is how those letters from  USCIS found me ;)

3. Try to keep in touch with people at your previous address... Just in case. Let them know you may still be receiving some mails and that they should just let you know..

Good luck!

Hello all,

My wife (immigrant) and I just moved addresses within Brooklyn and we're still waiting to receive the interview notification (getting close to a year now).

She has already received AP + EAD.

We're on the online form to change the address, and it asks for her status ("In the US as") with options Permanent resident, Other, Visitor, Student

Does anyone know what I should choose here and, if other, what should it put there?
