hello everyone!!!

I just got my I129f approval (for my wife, india) last friday. I wanted to know in general how long you guys waited before you started working on packet 3 / I134 and supporting document to send it to your spouse.??

I just wanted to get a general idea on that so if someone can post their experience that will be great!!!! I also had few questions about I134

1). about the bank letter. I guess they are asking for a specific letter from the bank. The very recent monthly statement wouldn't work..?? Can anyone post a sample which worked for them..?? that will be very helpful.

2). on the question 7, there is a line which says

" I have stocks and bonds with the following market value, as indicated on the attached list" -- which attached list is this.?? Is this something that I have to get from my brockerage company and attach it to I134..??

3). on question 11, I intend bla bla bla...I guess all I have to put here that she is my wife and I take the full responbiltiy to support her in any ways. Is that it.??

any comemnts / tips will do great...thanks in advance :)

A bank letter is not required unless you need to use your assets to qualify or you cannot otherwise provide evidence of sufficient income. If you actually need one, I don't have a suggestion for you on it. Perhaps others will.

2). on the question 7, there is a line which says

" I have stocks and bonds with the following market value, as indicated on the attached list" -- which attached list is this.?? Is this something that I have to get from my brockerage company and attach it to I134..??

Again, you only need this if you don't qualify by income alone. The attached list would be whatever YOU attach.

3). on question 11, I intend bla bla bla...I guess all I have to put here that she is my wife and I take the full responbiltiy to support her in any ways. Is that it.??

Yes, something to the effect of, I will support her as my wife. This is a multi-purpose form used for other non-immigrant visas. Some people need to be more specific. You do not.

As for timing, it sounds like you've started already. Good idea.

soni, take a look at packet 3 on mumbai's site: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html (make sure you open K3 packet, not K1)

Each visa applicant needs to satisfy the consular officer that he/she will not become a public

charge. The petitioner must provide an affidavit of support (form I-134), a job letter or pay stubs,

a bank letter, forms 1040 and W-2 for the most recent taxable year and proof of U.S. citizenship.

These documents must be less than 12 months old when submitted to this office. If the

petitioner’s income is not sufficient the applicant MUST submit the above documents from the

petitioner along with the same documents from an additional sponsor willing to assume financial

responsibility for the visa applicant.

(all emphasis mine)

The bank letter is required in Mumbai. Which consulate is your wife applying at?

From I-134, a bank letter is a:

Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial

institutions where you have deposits, identifying the

following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

I-130

2007-03-17: NOA1

2007-06-01: Approved

I-129F (K-3)

2007-03-26: NOA1

2007-06-01: Approved

2007-07-26: Interview at Consulate

2007-10-31: AOS NOA1
