My wife has her interview coming up for her green card next Tuesday. I am an American citizen and she is Canadian.

We received a letter stating that they were going to schedule our interview for November 21st, but that she should bring my last year's W-2 forms to supplement my affidavit of support form.

The problem is, I worked in Canada last year and only have my T-4 forms (the Canadian equivalent of a W-2). I've also heard that a Tax Transcript from the IRS would probably be sufficient, however I haven't received anything in the mail from the IRS and the "Get Transcript Online" feature is disabled for new users at the moment. All I have to prove my income from last year are my T-4s, my 1090 from filing my taxes with the US, the confirmation receipt that I had filed my taxes with the IRS, and my Notice of Assessment from the CRS confirming my earnings from 2016.

While they should sufficiently prove my ability to support my wife financially, I'm wondering if these documents are considered acceptable for my Affidavit of Support. Are there any other documents anyone might recommend that could help me?

Thank you for your time!

Did you file the US tax return using the T4? And you dont have W2s because you didnt work in the US correct? If so, you can consider the letter auto generated. They might have wrote W2s but it means whatever forms/schedules/proof of income you used to fill out your US tax return.

Does that make sense? If you have no W2s but did use a T4 then they want the T4. You cant bring what you dont have.

That is exactly what happened! I used the information from my T4 to file my US tax return. I assumed I didn't have to submit my T4s because the checklist asked for a W2. I did not know they were interchangeable in this context. Thank you very much for your time and (very, very reassuring) answer!
