Hey Dr. LHA, sorry for this question but I just had to ask. I meant a return receipt (carbon copy of a receipt) from DHS thru a private courier such as UPS or FedEx, request for the receipt indicated at the cover letter..

We had a return receipt before when we filed the 129F, showing that they received our checks and application, but were addressed to the immigration lawyer in our behalf... It does not look anything like those Notices of Action, I-797Cs..

Filed: Country: Canada

Wouldn't the NOA1 be proof that DHS has the application and be considered as a "receipt"? The only other receipt I can think of is the receipt for tracking purposes when we sent my husband's AOS package by USPS. Could this be what the OP means?

Yea, NOA1 was considered as a receipt to me coz' that was a proof that they received the filed documents. However, concerning the payment to the Homeland Security just check to your bank account if the issued check was cleared, then you can print that as your another receipt.

Most likely, but you'll get that whether you request it or not! :)

Never heard of doing that before, I have my doubts they'll honour your request. What good would the receipt do you?

Not much I guess but I just wanted to know if these things are within normal bounds. The paralegal did it before, when she initially filed our 129F. It got me wonderin', it did give my fiance then and my self a peace of mind, not have to wait for several days or a week or so for the NOA. But yes, whether I like it or not, I got a customer service receipt when I mailed in the AOS application earlier. :D And yes I will track through their website/phone.

Thanks people, sorry for the confusion here. I am confused too. The paralegal resigned months ago before I got here in the US. And as far as the immigration lawyer is concerned, our case is now closed and I cannot ask anything at all.
