I personally believe the DV category needs to disappear because it harkens back to an inherently racist thought process, that you should control the number of immigrants into the country by country of origin (and usually race as it happens to be).  It is a gross way of thinking that "we have enough of this type, but not this type" just due to an area of the world they were born in.  The other types of immigration: sibling, parent, and adult child are issues of the original immigrant's making for the most part (unless they were a jus soli birth), so they should not be visa categories.

The opinion piece is pointing out the danger in legal immigration.  Many on this site speak in strongly negative terms H1 Visas, Refugee Visas, the Visa Waiver Program, now the lottery.  There are many here who do not want to see legal immigration and feel this country is full up.

This is actually the Bannonite narrative, legal immigration is the really culprit,  pointing at Illegal immigration is just a good cover for our white nationalism but our real goal is a "White Christian" tribal culture.

As we spoke about the other day I am fully ok with H visas as long as the processing is done like it should be and not with companies trying to jump through loop holes to hire the employee that costs the less.

Refugee visas are ok in my book as long as they are FULLY vetted like they should be. We should let in refugees into the country but I think it should be maybe 25k tops. 
Don't get me started with the VWP and the loopholes they use to adjust status here because I don't think it's fair at all to those of us who dealt with either a K or CR/IR type visa processing.

I think that's just an argument for y'all on the Left when you don't hear what you like, you automatically call it "White Nationalism or Racist". When in reality the USA can NOT take every single person that wants to come here, because if we do this then we will lose everything that makes this country great and the reason why people dream of moving here legally.

I am not playing, several visa programs were mentioned in the article and you only mentioned the ratio of Caucasians in this country.    In a country of 321,000,000 million 50K for the VWP is 0.017 % and many of those folks would be caucasian so I am not sure what you hope to achieve.  

 

As for me count me as   one who says that keeping America White is anti-American, against my religious values and the start of the end for America as a great country.

Did you not bring up the ratio of Caucasians in this country as a factor in our decisions for immigration policy?   Like it or not, that is what we here Bannon saying.

Then I was wrong and I apologize. I did not want people to think that I am a White Nationalist because I am not one at all. But what gets in my craw so to speak is the tone I am hearing these days that white people have privilege and how I need to atone for being white, that really gets me and I hate it.

 

So yes when I reflect back on some things I admit I do get clouded some times by my anger in regards to that. I tend to be politically active kinda like a Republican Light(not a RINO) so being called racist just because I am white does get me pissed off.

I am fine doing away with the VWP/B2 loophole that allows people to come here and suddenly marry and stay here is not fair for everyone else. I am very much ok with doing away with this as I have said many times.

I am very much away of how different religious values are great for this country. I regularly converse with Hindu's, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, and many other sects without a problem. I love how this country allows people to live and pray how they want to, that is what helps make it great. 

 

My main thing that I don't like in regards to religious values as that some people think we need to do away with the Judeo-Christian values that helped make this country great and replace it with atheism.

You are correct and I can only tell you my values as well. 

 

I think I am a pretty open and broad thinking guy. I honestly think that the Alt-Rights are pushing me more to the Libertarian side than actual Republican.

I have always believed that the DV lottery was something odd. I don't know if there are other countries who have a similar immigration program? 

 

Most countries have very strict immigration laws, even the less wealthy countries. I don't know any country that allows illegal immigration.
