Hello everyone,

VJ timeline shows I-485 adjustment of status processing time last update on Feb 17, 2017.

Since i-485 is for so many catagories like family based, employement based etc . I wonder VJ timeline's I-485 belongs to which catagory?

My husband was here on K1 visa. We have applied his 485 on June 2, 2017. M looking for something related to His case. Uscis' official page shows processing time only based on employment based I-485. Also I wonder how reliable VJ is ? I mean I spoke uscis's L2 officer & she said they have nothing to do with VJ. Updates on VJ are not reliable to get any info.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thank you

My VJ timeline for my local office said I'd have to wait an average of 7 months to get an AOS interview letter from the time of submission. I waited 16 months so while VJ can predict timing for some, it doesn't apply to all.

VJ timelines are just based on entries by the users on the website. It is not a very reliable indicator of the actual USCIS timeline.

You can see the I-485 processing time on USCIS website under the field office where yours would be located. That would be under San Francisco, CA for you. USCIS is currently processing November 2016 I-485 applications.

-=ROC & Naturalization Timeline=-

January 25, 2021 - ROC application received

January 22, 2022 - Case transferred

January 16, 2022 - Naturalization application received

April 7, 2023 - ROC and Naturalization Interview

April 20, 2023 - Oath Ceremony scheduled

Not quite. On the 30th of September 2017 (approx 45 days ago), the San Francisco office was processing cases from the 28th of November, 2016. When you add ~45 days to that, you get to mid-January, which is pretty much exactly where the VisaJourney case tracker is today (someone at the San Francisco office has an interview with a PD of January 10 2017).

The point is, the USCIS field office reports the date of the case they were working on ~45 days ago, and you need to factor that into your estimate of where they are (probably) up to today.
