Hello All,

I filed in August to remove the conditions on my 2 year Green Card and also that of my dependent child to recieved 10 year Green Cards. I received my extension letter but child did not. I included her on my application and paid the biometrics fee. Is there a possibility that the extension letter for my child was lost in the mail?

We have a vacation booked for January 2018 and she cannot leave the country it appears.

Thank you.

Many times the child does not get the extension letter. Mine did not either, but I didn't have a trip to make. Make an infopass appointment for them to stamp the passport.

Thank you.

A lot of us, with a dependent in Part 5 of I-751 are in the same boat - a child has never gotten his/her NOA1. It's called Verification of Inclusion Of a Dependent in Filing Of Form I-751.

As Ontarkie  mentioned you should make an Infopass and get kid's passport stamped with I-551.  Green card can be kept/taken by USCIS in exchange for a stamp, so you should make a copy of child's green card. You should also bring your NOA1 as well - it won't be taken, but might be looked at. Mine  - was, before they stamped son's passport.

Don't know how old is your child, but if you received your Biometric appointment, but child didn't - call USCIS  to make sure it didn't get lost (often they try to keep a parent and a dependent together and schedule bio for the same day and time).

It's a busy time now, and it may be hard to schedule an Infopass... Anyway, the child shouldn't leave the country without stamp in the passport.

Thank you everyone.

Made an infopass appointment and had both passports stamped. The officer clipped a corner off of both expired Greencards and allowed us to keep them. He was very pleasant and explained that it would be a wait of approximatey 12 months for new cards.....just in time to apply for citizenship.
