Finally got my interview booked at the London embassy! So excited that the finishing line is in sight now.

Just wondering, I’ve seen it said recently that I should take photocopy’s of every document I take at the interview, except my passport and photos. Is this true? Has anyone else done this? And why do we need to?

I took photocopies of all the original documents - they returned the originals and kept the photocopies. I think they want to see the originals, but will need copies (verified on-site with the originals) for their records.

There are a few London Consular Reviews on this site where they've mentioned that they were only asked to hand over the originals. The checklist says take photocopies, so better to take them than not have them, imo. Good luck with your interview.

London used to view originals and keep photocopies as the person from Nepal described above. Their instructions still say provide photocopies. However in the last two years, there are dozens of London reports that photocopies  are refused or handed back by the document collector saying "we don't need those". Only the originals are put in the file to go back to the interviewer. Originals are returned by the interviewer before you leave his window.
