A new Alabama Senate poll, released Sunday morning, gives Democrat Doug Jones his first lead over Republican Roy Moore.

The race, though, remains close.

Louisiana-based JMC Analytics conducted the poll after allegations of sexual misconduct by Moore were reported by The Washington Post.

The poll had Jones received 46 percent support in the poll to Moore's 42 percent. With a margin of error of 4 percent, however, the race is essentially a statistical tie.

The poll also had 9 percent of participants declaring themselves undecided.

The election is Dec. 12 -- one month from today.

It's the second poll since the allegations came out that reveals a loss of support for Moore. A Decision Desk HQ/Opinion Savvy poll released Friday had the race tied 46-46.

Meanwhile, three other polls conducted after The Post allegations had Moore with slight leads but all acknowledged that his chance of winning was dwindling.

Moore maintained a lead in a poll conducted by Change Researchafter The Post allegations were published Thursday. Moore had a 4-point lead (44-40) but the Change poll also found that Moore's support was waning and that his lead was largely a testament to the dominance of the GOP in Alabama.

The Change poll of 1,855 registered voters also said that 42.4 percent of participants did not believe the allegations against Moore while 31.2 percent said they did believe them and 26.4 percent said they were unsure.

And still another poll, sampling 478 likely voters and conducted by Florida-based Gravis Marketing, had Moore with a 2-point lead (48-46). Gravis managing partner Doug Kaplan said that The Post allegations "have been a heavy blow to Moore." In tweeting the poll results Sunday, Gravis said it "would not be surprised if (Moore) lost."

There was a 95% chance Hillary would be President

Well more like 66% according to Nate Silver. But Yes and as you are fond of saying, its Alabama.  A Democrat should have no chance at all in a statewide seat in normal circumstances.  If the people of Alabama actually choose Chester the molester to represent Alabama and he stays in the Senate it will be a stain on the Republican brand that will take years to wash off their hands.

To be politically correct, we need to say The Great State of Alabama.

Technically he is an alleged molester

Factually Bill Clinton was an admitted Sexual predator . Yet

Not supporting Moore, I believe he is guilty just pointing out the double standard. There is a chance he may be innocent

Factually Bill Clinton does not hold public office, nor is running for public office.  I don't think he's an alleged molester. He's a pedophile and he's lucky the statute ran out.

Factually many of the people who are raising sand about Moore gave Clinton a free pass. He is an alleged pedophile

I love it when the MDL tries to white wash all the support they gave to sexual predators like the Clinton, by saying they no longer hold office.

So, your opinion is that Moore should get a pass as well? That doesn't sound very productive. LOL.

I don't think either should get a pass. Clinton should be impeached for being a sexual predator and Moore should be called a pedophile and child molester, as he is one.

I love it when the MDR/MOR tries to white wash all the support they give to sexual predators like the Moore, by saying that someone else did it too. LOL.

If you have read anything I have said, and still think I think Moore should get a pass, then ......

I do however think that at this point, what he has done is alleged

I think he is guilty that's my personal belief. If I was a judge at this point he would walk

Yes, it is alleged because he won't be made to testify. It doesn't mean the allegations are not true. I also think he's guilty as scum.
