Only have I797 but need to travel to Mexico

I’m having a procedure done in Mexico in February. I want my husband to go but he still doesn’t have a green card only the I 797 and our status still says ready to schedule interview but we haven’t heard anything for about a month since it updated. Can he travel with me since this is a medical procedure. 

K1 VISA

4/18/16: SENT APPLICATION TO LOCKBOX

4/19/16: DELIVERED TO USCIS

4/21/16: NOA 1 TEXT/EMAIL

4/25/16: NOA 1 HARDCOPY IN MAIL

7/07/16: NOA 2 TEXT APPROVAL (77 DAYS)

7/11/16: NOA 2 HARDCOPY IN MAIL

7/14/16: POST DECISION EMAIL

7/27/16: CASE RECEIVED AT NVC

7/28/16: NVC CASE & INVOICE NUMBER

8/01/16: CASE LEFT NVC TO EMBASSY (IN TRANSIT)

8/10/16: CASE UPLOADED TO EMBASSY

No, he can't travel without his AP, but from your timeline he should have that by then.

He has his EAC and at the bottom of it, it reads serves as I512 advance parole. Is this what you’re referring to?

Yes :) If he has that then he is good to re-enter. He'll need to check what he needs to enter Mexico though, such as visa and of course his passport.
