I m in the processing stages with NVC requesting for affidavit of support and other civil and supporting document.

ma qtn is ma wife filled her 2016 tax return as single cos she didnt know the process and we gat married jan 2016. We are to present her tax return nao to nvc. Will it have any effect at nvc and me getting visa to immigrate or is just to knw if she can support financially?

But is it possible we submit the present one nd process the amendment and present at the interview date with the consular and hw long does the process of ammendment takes?

she should file 1040 x and send you a copy of amended form and proof like a registered reciept showing it was mailed 

this take to interview as it wil take time for them to process the amended taxes

 

tell her to file maried joint return or married filing seperate

it is worth her while to file joint and claim you for a larger refund
