My wife and I received notification on October 17, 2017 that an interview will be scheduled in regards to the I-485 Adjustment of Status via the USCIS website.  My wife originally entered the United States on a K1 Visa.  We were then married within the allotted 90 days and submitted all paperwork for a green card immediately following.  We were married on July 11, 2017 and my wife and I went to have her fingerprints taken in September after receiving a letter from USCIS.

The I-485 interview should be in regards to her green card, but even though this notification was updated on October 17, 2017 we have not received any additional information (letter or phone call).  Should we have already received notification of the interview or should we expect it to take longer before we hear anymore on this subject?  Just to be clear, she has not received her green card so we are hoping this interview will change that.  Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

The update normally says "ready to be scheduled for interview" - which just means that the case was transferred from the NBC to your local field office. How long it takes them to schedule the interview depends on their processing times. Some field offices schedule within 1 month,  for some it takes 12 months. Until then,  all you can do is wait to find out. You can check vj as well for other ppl from the same field office.

Thank you for your response, this is very helpful.  I have one more question if I may?  I am wondering how to check how long it is taking the local field office to schedule interviews?  Thank you again in advance for your response, it has been truly helpful.

Once my wife and I got the notice that they were in the process of scheduling her interview the status changed to Interview scheduled with the interview date in the notice, it only took about 2 weeks for this to happen.

Where are you from? Maybe fill out your timeline, that helps.

If you don't know your field office you can use this to determine which office serves you

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

Here is the USCIS page for processing times‚ select your field office from the first drop down and then click on the "Field Office Processing Dates" button and it will take you to the page for your field office

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

There you should see the current processing dates for your field office.
