Automatic 180 days extention renew EAD????

Hi everyone,

I have a question, when i requested an expeditr for my EAD renew (i have been waiting for 4 months) they denied it becausethey said that my category C09 can be automatically extended for 180 days. Does any one knows how that works??? Specially for my work and drivers license!!???

Correct..that's current policy so long as the I-765 is properly filed.

As for how to prove this to an employer or the DMV, I'm not sure. I would provide a copy of the above along with the original EAD and NOA1 for the renewal.

Edit: For the DMV, the I-485's NOA1 is usually acceptable as well.

Thanks for your answer, when i asked uscis about renewal of DL, they told my that that is federeal, and the driver license is estatal, so they dont know. I have to ask DL division.

Exactly. Driver licenses are issued by the state so they have their own rules.
