Hi all,

Yesterday my status changed to "AT NVC" and AOS disappeared from the CEAC website. I called NVC to confirm about case complete. They confirmed that my case is complete the review and will be forwarded to consulate in India and I will be getting an email once the interview has been scheduled.

However, today I woke up and saw an email from NVC with Checklist cover letter saying this:

###################################### Page 1 ##########################################

November 9, 2017

NVC Case Number: BMB1234567890

Dear PETITIONER'S NAME:

We reviewed the documents you submitted to us. This letter has a list of documents that are missing or that need additional information. Please review the instructions on the attached pages.

The instructions will ask you to either:

  •   Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview;

    or

  •   Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet. Clearly write your case number BMB1234567890 on the upper right-hand corner of every document you send. After we receive and review the requested information, we will let you know the status of your case. For current processing times, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish).

If you have any questions about this letter, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/ask (English) or nvc.state.gov/ask/espanol (Spanish).

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and documents to continue the immigration process.

  •   You must use this cover sheet when you physically submit forms and supporting documents to the NVC. Place a legible copy of this form on the top of each submission and mail to this address:

    National Visa Center ATTN: DR
31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100 Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

  •   Do not include any form of electronic media, including CDs and memory cards. If you send electronic media to the NVC, we will return it unopened.

  •   Send photocopies of your civil documents (e.g., birth certificate). Send a copy of a signed Form I-864 Affidavit of Support(s).

  •   Failure to use this cover sheet will delay processing of your visa application.

  •   Use this cover sheet only for the case number indicated below. Information for any other case that you mail in the same package must include the cover sheet for that case.

  •   Do not use this cover sheet if you are submitting forms and supporting documents by email. Instead, follow the directions under "Email processing" on http://nvc.state.gov/submit for English or http://nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol for Spanish.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: BENEFICIARY'S NAME

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

______AUSTRALIA POLICE CERTIFICATE:________________________________
Police Certificates - All Australia

Available
Fees: Refer to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) website for the current fee
Document Name: National Police Certificate
Issuing Authority: Australian Federal Police
Procedure for Obtaining: Follow instructions on the Australian Federal Police (AFP) website.

National Police Certificates based on fingerprints are preferred, but a certificate not based on fingerprints is acceptable if it shows all aliases ever used. When applying for the certificate, indicate that it is "for immigration purpose" and must be "full disclosure".

Applicants who are required to provide an Australian police certificate should present it at the time of interview or request that it be sent directly to the Consulate where they will apply.

Police certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

######################################################################################

I am confused about exactly what they are asking me. I already sent them Australian Police Clearance for my with along with Indian Police Clearance certificate with my IV packet. I am confused since they already verbally confirmed case complete, are they asking my wife to bring the Australian Police Clearance to the interview?

Has anyone ever gotten similar email? or does anyone know what this really means. I am really hoping that they just want my wife to bring the PCC to the interview (she was already gonna do that anyway).

I tried calling NVC today, but they are closed for a Federal Holiday (Veterans Day). I will try to contact them on Monday now, but in the mean time just thought to ask fellow applicants.

Thank you in advance!

PSON

I do think it means you need to bring it to the interview. It says, "Applicants who are required to provide an Australian police certificate should present it at the time of interview or request that it be sent directly to the Consulate where they will apply."

That's what I am getting from it as well. It's just that they are not so clear since on the first page they said the instructions will ask you to do either option 1 and 2. But the instruction doesn't specifically mention anything. lol

Thanks for your input!

Yes we had one telling us that our IR 5 applications were completed at NVC and being forwarded to the Sydney Consulate but that we should get a joint sponsor and bring the I864 paperwork to the interview.

What you are seeing is a generic letter which is used to cover a multitude of situations so read carefully and note exactly what the instructions to YOU are saying and ignore those that do not apply to you. Good luck !

Thanks! I will confirm by calling them on Monday. Since I already submitted a copy of Australian police clearance, I am hoping that they just want me to bring that to the interview.

Yeah.. I see what you are saying. I will definitely call and confirm. it would've been cleared only if today NCV were open today. Since I already submitted the Australian PCC, I think they just want it to be present at the time of the interview. At least that's what I am hoping for. lol.. will find out when I call.

It may be that the scanned copy was not readable or the e-file was corrupted.... or they lost it!!!  Make sure your original meets all the criteria.. when you get your email instructions from Sydney , they will list all the documents they have on hand and what you have to bring.... original, copy etc... so that will be another opportuntiy to ensure you have everything in hand.  It is required to bring the original of ll scanned documents already submitted, so the original AFP certificate would be on that list.. you did get the AFP check and not just your state check?

Yes. I did get the AFP National Police Certificate. My wife has the original with her and we were planning on taking it to the interview.

My PCC looks similar to this

Hello guys

We get approved almost one mounth ago and we still didn't hear anything saying to us what to do we are really worried

Is that normal ?

When you say approved, I assume you are talking about approved petition from uscis. It usually takes 3 weeks for you to get welcome letter from nvc.  You should call nvc to find out if they have gotten your approved Petition USCIS. If they haven't, then call daily to find out what's going on.

my letter said the same, I think they misplaced the document and my letter didn't actually say to take it to the interview, but I'm all set now for my interview and bringing the documents with me, my case says now "Ready " for interview. They should really work on their format it's confusing.

Nice! I am glad they didn't ask to sent it back to NVC. That 11 weeks wait time is ridiculous. Good luck with your interview!
