Is this a possible request to USCIS? help!

Hi guys!

I hope someone has experience with this.

 

I have 2 weeks in May 2018 that I'm tentatively unavailable for interview. Its my moms 70th birthday and i will be out of town.
Since its so unpredictable when we will be scheduled for interview, is there a possibility that I can request USCIS not to schedule me on specific Dates?

I applied for AOS October 2017, so it will be 7 months by then. Not sure if AOS will be over or not

I don't have direct experience with this, but I don't think that USCIS accepts that sort of request. You'll just have to take your chances. If they schedule you for an interview during the time you're unavailable, then you can reschedule, but unfortunately, you don't have the option to tell them when you are free. It's kind of backwards, I know, but that's the way it is.

USCIS tends to schedule 3 weeks or so in advance. You should have enough time to reschedule for another time if your scheduled time interferes with your trip. There is no way to do this in advance of them processing your case.
